Thursday Throbs 12-8

With cold weather settling in for a bit, and the first snows of the season falling, it’s time to heat things up.

I love well-done tattoos – the kind that accentuate and showcase both the ink and the body through placement, shape, flow and color.

I don’t like jeans very much right now.

Oooohhh – Pretttttyyyy

Some tats are just… lickable! Mmmm!

Dragons. ‘Nuff said.

Now where did I put that chocolate sauce? …

Share some of YOUR favorite skin art!

Come back next week for more sexy ink, and bring your own to share.

NaNoWriMo FTW!

Wheew!!! It’s finally OVER! All over the world, NaNoers are frantically copying their novels, pasting them into the wordcount validator, and hitting submit. With hard work, and a little luck, aching fingers and worn-out keyboards, some of them managed to write 50,000 words in 30 days.

I really didn’t think I was going to make it this year. Last year, I passed 50k on the 18th, and completed the entire first draft by the 30th. Not this year. I only passed 50k around noon today, and I still have a lot of work to finish this first draft. I was lucky to get near 50k, let alone pass it, but I managed 53,094 words this year.

As a result, I get to do this:

My project this year was to pick up the stalled first draft of Blood Dragon II. With luck, I’ll manage to finish the draft, and complete the revisions on Blood Dragon¬†by the end of December, and get them both moving on to the next step in the road to publication. Not to mention, there’s another Blood Dragon story waiting in outline form, demanding to be written. It’ll have to wait until these two are on the way, though. ūüėÄ

Six Sentence Sunday

The official Six Sentence Sunday is taking a break this week, but will be back next week. I’ve decided to go ahead and post my Six this week anyway. Partly because I’m a creature of habit, and partly because there might be one person out there looking forward to seeing what my characters are up to. So, with further ado…

This week’s Six is from the new beginning of BLOOD DRAGON, and immediately follow last week’s Six, which, in turn followed the Six from 10-9. ¬†Jaden’s kidnapper gives her one last chance to give him what he wants.

Smiling his tight smile, Redinger approached Jaden’s cell. “Well, you’ve had time to compose your thoughts. Are you going to give me the names of the other vampires, or do I get to pull the information out of you, bit by bit?”

“I’m not telling you anything.” Determination made her voice strong. These humans would kill her anyway, as soon as they had the information.

Six Sentence Sunday

This week’s Six is from BLOOD DRAGON II, which is really needing its own title. Ardrianna is searching for evidence of whoever broke into King’s apartment. Difficult when King’s body keeps sidetracking her. The worst part? He knows she wants him for a fact. Weredragons, both male and female, emit a distinctive scent whenever they are sexually aroused. So she can’t hide it.

King must be wondering if her arousal scent meant she would be receptive to his advances. In a word, no. She had to keep telling herself that. “We need to finish this up as quickly as we can manage, and get out of here.”

He nodded, his left hand absently rubbing his thigh, distracting her. “Okay. Tell me what you want me to do.”

Lucky for her, as badly as King wants her, he’s being a gentleman. Despite knowing exactly what she wants, he isn’t pressing the issue. Yet.

Six Sentence Sunday

This week’s Six is from BLOOD DRAGON II. King is trying to convince Ardrianna to allow him to kiss her. He promises that if she doesn’t like it, and can honestly say she doesn’t want more, he’ll back off trying to seduce her, and let her do her job. Then it occurs to him that she might be involved with someone else.

Ardrianna couldn’t stop the burst of laughter. “No, not hardly.” Missed opportunity. Telling him there was someone else would have put a stop to this whole ludicrous thing.

Before she could say anything more, he pulled her closer. “Then let me kiss you.”

Of course, once he starts kissing her, she can’t resist him.

Six Sentence Sunday

This weeks Six is from BLOOD DRAGON. The reader has just met Kiellen for the first time. Shortly after his introduction, his Team Coordinator, Adelle, calls to assign him the mission where he will rescue Jaden and fall in love.

‚ÄúKiellen, I have a mission for you, and an update.‚ÄĚ Adelle‚Äôs phone-sex voice always came as a bit of a surprise, even though he had worked with her nearly fifty years. Once upon a time, Adelle let him know she would like something between them other than a working friendship. Drop-dead gorgeous, any male would be a fool not to want her. But, she was a vampire. As a weredragon, he couldn‚Äôt go there.¬†

Six Sentence Sunday

This weeks Six is from BLOOD DRAGON II. Ardrianna has just rejected King’s advances, and he is visibly hurt. But he used her to break up with the woman he was almost engaged to, and her own sense of honor won’t allow her to give in to her attraction to him, no matter how badly she wants to. Even if she gave in, she wouldn’t be able to hold his attention for long, with all the beautiful women competing for him.

Ardrianna hated being the cause of the disappointment in his eyes. It wasn’t like it would take him long to find another female, though. A male like him wasn’t alone long. And this time it would be someone in his league ‚Äď someone worthy. Stifling a sigh, she finished packing away her kit. What she wouldn’t give to be the female to catch his attention long term wasn’t worth mentioning.

The link was broken for last week’s Six, so I’m pasting it below for anyone interested.

8-28-11

From BLOOD DRAGON: Jaden and Kiellen are having dinner, and he’s kicking himself for being attracted to her. She’s only just recovered from being raped and tortured, so something must be wrong with him to react that way to her presence. He has to get a handle on it to keep from terrifying her.

She dropped a bit of sesame chicken. His heart stopped. The morsel rested in her cleavage, tempting him to reach over and pluck it out. He bit his tongue to stop his mind from going there.

She laughed at herself and fished the chicken out with her napkin while he stared, fascinated. She glanced up and caught his eye and froze for a moment.

Kiellen is about to learn the difference between gratitude and attraction.
